The position:

We seek on their behalf a dedicated HSEQ Business Partner to join their Jandakot based operation who will provide a high level of professional HSEQ advice, guidance, support, coaching and expertise to management and staff.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Diploma OHS or equivalent experience and Safety MS Audit certification

Experienced in Injury Management and return to work management

5 years’ experience in HSEQ in an industrial environment preferably with mining safety exposure

Advanced Microsoft skills and HSEQ software platforms

Takes pride in all written and verbal communications; previous experience in preparing and delivering training packages and presentations

Understands and maintains ethical standards of behaviour

Demonstrates a focus on teamwork and strives to become part of a high performing team

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provides recommendations, insight and advice that proactively supports managers in their application of HSEQ policy and processes and driving an improvement culture

Influences stakeholders to adopt a more appropriate course of action by using a range of strategies

Demonstrate a focus on the quality of work and improvement by taking personal ownership of tasks, striving to improve quality and seek better ways to consistently deliver high-quality outcomes

Ability to positively influence stakeholders at multiple levels

Applies critical thinking

Deliver expert leadership and advice to influence and guide business units in implementing and managing a positive safety culture and practices

Develop and build networks with key stakeholders and customers (internal and external) to ensure continual improvement of our HSEQ systems.

Consult, review and implement HSEQ processes, policies and procedures in conjunction with key stakeholders and QHSE team under guidance from the HSEQ Manager.

Identify, design and deliver relevant in-house training and organise external training where appropriate.

Provide advice, support and guidance to influence and ensure all incidents and related investigations are promptly addressed, impartially and confidentially in accordance with Schenck’s processes and best practice.

Be the subject matter expert and project lead for assigned projects.

Lead, facilitate and/ or manage a range of HSEQ group activities including inspections and audits.

Manage the rehabilitation and return to work plans for all work and non-work related injuries.

Be the subject matter expert on OHSE legislation, regulations, standards and company policies & procedures and provide advice and guidance on these matters to stakeholders and the business.

Review and assist line managers with their safe systems of work including procedures, risk assessments, processes and other key documentation ensuring compliance with requirements.

Track, interpret and report on OHSE metrics and trends that may require corrective action.

Support the preparation of the monthly report/s.

Ensure the information in the Safety Management System and software is accurate and documents updated as required with changes communicated to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

Travel to client sites on a scheduled basis as agreed with relevant stakeholders, as well as, PAU site located in VIC, HV and QLD.

  Drive the audits and inspections completion, ensuring results are captured and actions are closed out in a timely manner.

Develop safety alerts for communication to the business on matters relevant to the business.

Research solutions to address HSEQ challenges and present these to key stakeholders to drive an improvement culture
