We proudly represent a global market leader of engineering solutions in, measuring and process technologies within industrial weighing, feeding, screening, and automation. This client has an outstanding (international) reputation, in Engineering and Manufacturing across the mining & resources sectors.

We seek on their behalf a dedicated OHSE professional to join their Jandakot based operation on a temporary 3 - 6 months basis with a focus on supporting the OHSE team with the transition in to their new facility in Jandakot

The Position

You will be reporting to the Senior OHSE Business Partner and assisting them in conjunction with the relocation team to ensure a smooth and successful transition to the new facility

  • Cert IV in Occupational Health & Safety/WHS essential
  • Previous safety administration experience (minimum 2 years) essential
  • Previous document development and document management experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Experience with training and competency requirements
  • Aptitude for technology with experience in multiple software applications and/or business information systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently on individual assignments or team projects without direct supervision
  • Effective analytical problem solving skills and make effective decisions, often at short notice
  • Being able to prioritize workloads
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Modern approach to Safety and the service delivered to the business

Main Accountabilities
  • Assist in the development of site inductions to include welcome, general site overview, emergency management, site requirements, amenities, contacts for site etc
  • Workshop, Warehouse, Contractor and Visitor induction and familiarisation
  • Assist in developing and maintaining training and VOC documents for high risk equipment
  • Develop site traffic management plans
  • Develop site familiarisation guidelines
  • High level Safety Risk Assessment for new site and hazard identification prior to operation
  • Assist with testing emergency protocols and equipment, setting up warden/first aid stations, displaying safety content on site noticeboards for the new facility
  • Capturing actions and minutes from site related meetings and escalate these to Senior OHSE BP as required
  • Assist with documenting a comprehensive emergency response plan, documenting PPE requirements, updating ChemAlert database with dangerous goods on site
  • Other duties that are within the skills and experience of the person deemed appropriate by the Senior OHSE Business Partner in relation to the relocation and day to day business support

Must have experience:
  • Experienced with AS 4801/ ISO 18001 and understanding of ISO 45001 requirements
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements
